About this movie

From acclaimed filmmaker Sam Raimi (Spider-Man, Evil Dead) comes this chilling take on a classic. After the Bowen family moves into a seemingly calm suburban house, inter-dimensional spirits terrorize them. And when the ghosts abduct their little girl, the Bowens must find a way to rescue her – or they’ll lose her forever – in this terrifying thrill-ride starring Sam Rockwell and Rosemarie DeWitt!

the original was way better. we got to know the family, they were already established in the neighborhood and the poltergeist were already watching and drawing from the family. then there was the face mutilation/ steak being turned inside out/ chicken leg maggot scene which was awesome with the spfx back then, the demon skeleton dog creature, and the enormous head of satan. the older sisters screaming at the end "whats happening" was pure gold. we got to see the dead popping out of the hound, and the whole neighborhood feeling the effects of the evil. this movie had none of that. the dad was a loser, the mom was weak, the girl wasnt creepy enough and the brother was just a ham, the older sister was to wrapped up in cap that she was just clueless the entire time. the clowns dont even match up. dont do the climactic clown scene in the middle. sam raimis worst piece of work. evil dead1-3 were better than this, even all 3 spiderman movies were better. hell xena/hercules was better

Well, first of all Google, I want my money back! The only word to describe how bad this film was is WOW. The best acting was the little six year old, she has a promising career as an actress, the rest, not so much. They took a fantastic classic horror movie and destroyed it. Remakes are rarely worth the effort but they took this one to a whole new level of awful. Bad acting, bad graphics, ruined script. It's as if they intentionally made every effort to make this as terrible as possible to give the original a bad name. Shame on you, you have no right to defame the classic by using it's name in vain by titling this trash Poltergeist!

Who knew the original with all of its old effects would be 1×10^10 times better than a show that had the advantage of modern technology and the chance to improve on things. Crappy acting. Crappy effects. Crappy story. 93 min of pure crapola.
