Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge

Out of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" formula, this movie follows what we are all used to and expect from these movies. A pirate-story containing large ships, canon fights, ancient myths and funny gags. But out of all the "Pirates" movies, this was definitely the weakest one. The main story was watered down pretty heavily by jokes and humorous cut-ins, leaving us with more of a comedy movie with an underlying pirate story, rather than the other way around. But I think of the "Pirates" movies as simple, entertaining pirate-stories, and if that is what you are looking for as well, then this is right up your alley.

First of all, I like the film absolutely more than I hate it. I will explain my rating. 1) I gave 4 stars because I appreciate the huge effort put into this amazing film and the story is interesting like the other pirates films. 2) This film kept a very similar pattern to the other pirate films while many people expected something different in this film example: Pirates 4 - search for the fountain Pirates 5 - search for the trident, Pirates 2 - Kraken Pirates 5 - Sharks, Pirates 4 - fight at the fountain Pirates 1 - fight at Isla De Muerta Pirates 5 - fight at Poseidon's Dome, Pirates 3 - fight between ships Pirates 5 - fight between ships, Pirates 1, 3 - executions Pirates 5 - executions, Pirates 2, 3 - Davy Jones cant step on land Pirates 5 - cant step on land, Pirates 1 ended with Jack sailing Pirates 5 ended with Jack sailing... 3) another critic is the over sense of humour. It made people laugh many times.. i know jack is always a humour person (which is good in all films) but this film had humour even not from jack. An effective Adventurous film as the Pirates saga, would leave people with a sense of crying and sympathy and not as if it is a children's film. The soundtrack was a bit humorous as well, unlike Hans Zimmer's. 4) The story was a bit misleading - example Jack in the other films betrayed the compass and nothing had happened. Why now? All in all Ireally like the film. It is still amazing and I appreciate the effort and the new things like ghosts, the daughter of Barbossa, son of Will and Elizabeth, will and Elizabeth's return, the Pearl's return... Its a 4 stars for me :)
