About this movie

For years, old Mr. Meacham has delighted local children with tales of the fierce dragon that resides deep in the Pacific Northwest woods. To his daughter Grace, a forest ranger, the stories are little more than tall tales…until she meets Pete, a mysterious 10-year-old with no family or home, who claims to live in the woods with a giant green dragon named Elliot. With the help of 11-year-old Natalie, whose father owns the local lumber mill, Grace sets out to learn where Pete came from, where he belongs, and the truth about this dragon.

Mostly poor characters with the exception of a few. Very slow plot that is depressing. My daughter is home from school and usually loves these types of movies, but she found something else to do half way through. I choked down the rest of the film but certainly finished off our Christmas poorly. If you get it for free or Netflix then decide for yourself...but save your money otherwise.

No heart. Just another over dramatized Disney move made in the 21st century. We need talent that can bring out an array of emotions in us like classical movies did. Movies now just want to image splurge rather than capture the beauty of all the range of art that exists. Songs that we can remember during our lifetime and share with our children. Stories inspire us to become optimistic about the adversities in life. We're entering an age where we soon will look for more than CGI entertainment.

Nothing like the original (which I loved as a child)! I wanted to share this movie with my daughter & wish I had just shown her the original. About 95% sad & 30 seconds of happy at the end which isn't happy enough to make up for all the crying my daughter & I did throughout the movie. I love movies & hardly ever have a bad thing to say but this movie is awful!!! Don't waste your money & tears on this one.
