Pet Sematary (2019)

I have to admit that I was kinda bored while watching this mess. I couldn't really care for what was going on...it just wasn't all that interesting in my opinion. Very forgettable stuff.

I couldn't even finish it. All the tension and fear of the novel have been shoved into as quick of a space as possible. Too many "fade outs" to express passage of time instead of actual storytelling. No tension at all.

Being 30 years after the original 1989 movie, this remake is effectively unsettling, it focuses on the characters themselves and their emotions rather than your standered overt gore and FX. Even though there are similarities of the the film to the original there are some key differences which makes this remake worth watching as a film itself rather then just another remake. It is difficult to not compare the two if you have seen the original but you need to watch this with an open mind.
