Penguin Highway

Spoiler Free - Penguin Highway was a really weird movie. I watched this movie because I was looking forward to this random 5/5 movie on google play, and I was slightly disappointed. This movie is not at all bad. It's charming, kind of funny, and the mystery is relatively engaging. By far the greatest things about this movie were the animation and music. What a wonderful film to see and hear. But I think I have more negatives than positives here. I don't think this movie is bad because it's weird and confusing. Before you watch it though, you have to accept that some things are just random, and you will not get an answer for what or why or how or what the heck. Some people might like it but it wasn't my cup of tea. But even if you accept it, this movie in many ways is a little uncomfortable. A younger kid likes a young adult and at times it is pretty uncomfortable. Maybe this movie just wasn't my thing, but I didn't really see a theme and was generally not entertained. This was one of the weirdest movies I've ever seen, but I can see how many can enjoy it. 3/5

Saw it in theaters. Love it! Waiting for sale to purchase and rewatch.
