About this movie

Paul, who goes from the most infamous persecutor of Christians to Christ’s most influential apostle, spends his last days awaiting execution by Emperor Nero in Rome. Paul is under the watchful eye of Mauritius, Mamertine Prison’s ambitious prefect, who seeks to understand how this broken old man can pose such a threat. As Paul’s days grow shorter, he feverishly works from prison to further the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and embolden his followers to stand strong in their faith against Roman persecution far greater than has ever been seen.

Well, I am not religious, so I would like to give my review. I was hoping for a good touching movie. But it seemed a little too brain washy for my liking. I've watched a lot of religious films and found them enjoyable. But this had really no climax until the end, which sometimes works for movies. However, the ending better be spectacular, and this one wasn't. Then they decide to dedicate the movie to people who've been persecuted by faith... So, some good things about the movie. I felt the acting was pretty good. I especially like the Roman, but they don't really go into what happens to him. They should have. I think that would have made for a better ending/movie. Additionally I really had to turn up the volume on this film because they were constantly whispering but lacked the proper audio team to do it right to where you can still hear them. Either way, 2.5 to 3 stars

3 and a half out of 5. This depiction of Paul is a beauty, and the drama of it is well enough but could be better. It is a powerful film with the different letters by Paul being depicted in where it leads to the power of God overtaking evil at the end of the film in great ways. It is also touching too. Everyone should be watching this in these end times before Revelation! Jesus is our only hope!

For any believer the movie is worth watching and a blessing. It is devoid for the most part of the Person and works of the Holy Spirit that are so prevalent in the book of Acts. Disappointing to see Paul so haunted by his past and not freed by grace. Showing the historical background was probably the most helpful part of the movie. Decent character portrayal (Paul's lacked the most) and development. But kind of somber without the joy of the Holy Spirit in folks lives in the midst of trouble. The believers in fellowship are constantly shown as fearful and/or angry. The leadership portrayed in the movie showed love and devotion well. Good gospel centered.
