The marketing for this film wasn't doing much for me, it looked like another metal crunching, massive explosion, been done before kind of blockbuster. But, on second thoughts with Guillermo Del Toro and Idris Elba, I had high hopes that there must be something different and at least slightly intelligent about this movie. Well.....apart from some ridiculous CGI, there wasn't. Predictable, seen it all before story, wooden, cringe-worthy acting, terrible jokes, rubbish script, poor design. Completely and utterly brainless, save your £3.50, go watch Pan's Labyrinth!!!

They are the only good thing here, sorry. Bad acting, every action and character development was a predictable cliché, the main character was an obnoxious arse I really hoped would die...not even cheesy enough to be enjoyable because everyone involved seemed to think it was some super serious high brow original sci-fi movie that would change the world. Well nope. Just super boring except for the cool robots... except none of the good ones last long enough for you to look at so bleh.

Monsters vs robots... Could have been the best film ever. Unfortunately the main character is highly irritating and has a silly crotch grab walk. Then there is the stereotype mathematician and the stereotype mad scientist who hate each other but are actually best friends. Utter drivel saved from one star by Idris Elba and cool looking robots.
