Once upon a Time In... Hollywood

Movie was great! I did not watch any trailers or read anything about it on purpose so I could go in without any expectations. Honestly, I don't know why so many people were upset about the Bruce Lee scene. That's the one aspect of this movie that I was unable to escape because of all the wimps on the internet crying about it. I thought it was well done and did not make him look bad in the least. Bruce Lee seemed to be copied from Jason Scott Lee's portrayal of him in The Dragon which was quite popular when it came out. Also, a large part of the premise of the movie is an alternate history, and I hate to break it to the cry babies but Bruce Lee was an actor not an actual real life hero. The dynamic between Pitt and Leo was believable and falls into a comfortable groove from start to finish. I LOVE the way that they dove into Rick's (Leo) filming of the scenes as a villainous cowboy. That was some FANTASTIC acting. Cameos by Timothy Olyphant, Michael Madsen, Al Pacino, Bruce Dern, Luke Perry, and Kurt Russell...AND dare I say the addition of a character to play Bruce Lee, help to further enrich the movie as I always feel that the casting of small roles in a film is what propels a good movie into greatness. Well done!

Tarantino is a true genius! This movie far exceeded my expectations. IMHO, it's Tarantino's best movie and I'd rank it among the top 10 films of the last 30 years. However, I think you really need to be a fan of the era to truly appreciate it. If, like me, you're a die-hard fan of the 60s and 70s, then you'll enjoy all the subtle references, including the music, movies, people and places. Unfortunately, I missed this when it was playing in the theatre, but I'll be buying a copy on 4k now. I highly recommend Once Upon a Time in Hollywood!

Awful portrey of Bruce Lee totally misrepresented what he was about and work so hard for ( Asian actor has a reputable role in White Hollywood). The Movie was focused on how fast hollywood was changing and the western movie era ending. Mixed in a bit of radical hippies and topped with rash violence. I can see how some people enjoy this. It was not historically accurette and because messing with taboos in a bad way I could not stand it. The acting was good, from the leads but also from support.
