This is a tough film to review. On the one hand it is a truly profound story, which manages to be simultaneously grounded in reality and utterly magical, a rare combination largely owing to the exquisite music and vulnerable performances. On the other hand, the resolution does not do justice to the rest of the story: it is a dream that is way too small for these heroic characters.

not your average romance, whatever flaws there are in the film (not that its all that flawed) the incredible soundtrack more than makes up for it.

Just the most beautiful movie I've watched in a long time. Can't believe I haven't seen it before - I guess it's one of those hidden gems you find and then have to keep forever.
