Compared to modern musicals, this is in a different league. I am in my forties now and recently I was in a pub in Dublin when at least a hundred football fans entered, many of them young women in their teens and early twenties. There was quite a talented bunch of old Irish musicians in the pub and before long the girls were singing along to a plethora of Rogers and Hammerstein tunes while the band played along. No modern tunes just the music of the greatest musical show duo the world has ever seen. Not one of the young women asked for anything by Lloyd Weber or generations of fifth rate pop musicians. Sustaining melody over many bars of harmony is a lost art in the modern world and considering just how many great Melodies Rodgers wrote it is quite staggering. All the technology and shallow posturing in the world won't make you a great composer and in fifty years from now young girls will still be singing this wonderful music while many of today's musicians will be long forgotten!

After paying for this classic in hd its dissapointing that after the opening credits the main feature is in full screen. Very disappointed with this presentation. The king and I has suffered the same poor presentation.
