About this movie

Daniel Craig returns one last time as James Bond; starring alongside OSCAR®-winner Rami Malek (2019; Best Actor; "Bohemian Rhapsody") in "No Time To Die." Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. However; his peace is short-lived when his old friend; Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) from the CIA turns up asking for his help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected; leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with a dangerous new technology.

The disappointing thing about the final in the Daniel Craig era of Bonds is that it is underwhelming. Yet, it has ingredients that could've made it great. A lot of self-referential elements pique an otherwise conflicted final which is subtly telegraphing its wokeness. You will find these for yourself. Bond cannot be woke, for woke is the antithesis of both Bond and Bond's creator, Ian Fleming. This may have been understood by the original producers but is lost on the latest. Likewise, the genre is troubled by elements that do not belong in a Bond film, such as a kid, and (spoiler alert) the ending is contrary to the Pater Pan myth of Bond. Here, too, the necessary villain is forgettable, downscale, and the plot introduces him as a Deus ex Machina. Moreover, Bond’s ‘beauty’ is not such a beauty, and Bond has uncharacteristically traded his philandering for devotion. None of this is James Bond, it is the product of those who no longer know who Bond is, or what to do with him.

Weakest Bond movie ever and flagrant cash grab. Forgettable villain, unremarkable love interest, lacks what makes these films memorable. Craig also seems to be more indestructible than usual - the old "5 goons with assault weapons and the element of surprise all miss me but a single round from my pistol takes out each of them" gets very tired; he's supposed to be Good, not some godlike FPS character. Even the car chases miss the mark, just Bond and the Baddies racing through abandoned streets.

It's Bond. It's Daniel Craig. Five star quality from a one to zero star platform that does not have a HD streaming facility...let alone 4K. I recommend the film but suggest buyers purchase hard copy versions that don't have the appalling YouTube platform as it's base. At best, I recommend buy as because that's the ONLY quality you get from YouTube....I don't recommend Google or YouTube to ANYONE. Buy hardcopy...best bet.
