About this movie

Two strangers meet at a North Carolina inn, each planning to deal with very troubling circumstances in their lives. Paul (Golden Globe-winner Richard Gere - "Chicago," "Unfaithful") is a doctor who has come to try to reconcile with his estranged son. Adrienne (Academy Award-nominee Diane Lane - "Unfaithful," "Under the Tuscan Sun") is trying to decide whether or not to stay in her unhappy marriage. Sparks fly when the two first cross paths, and a relationship begins to build that may open up new possibilities for both of them. Also starring Golden Globe-winner James Franco ("Spider-Man" trilogy, TVs "James Dean"). Directed by George C. Wolfe ("Lackawanna Blues"). I liked it... but if they were to do a remake, I would suggest a two-week stay instead of a 4-day one -- it's hard to believe that they could get so close in such a short amount of time. I would also have the movie end with her running into someone and feeling a connection... and leaving us to figure out what happens down the road.

Yes, as women we know not to get our hopes up in life in regards to romance. Life doesn't usually happen that way with a fairytale ending. Men cheat. Men lie. Men are lazy and you have to kick them out. But we watch these movies to ESCAPE from reality. I LOVED the story line of this movie so much, and making Richard Gere die ruined this movie for me completely.

I don't mind cheesy, romantic dramas; but this is one the most horribly constructed films I've ever seen. Certainly the worst of that year. Terrible.
