This is my "guilty pleasure" of the NOES sequels. Part 3 was such a success that New Line put this production into warp speed and was out the following year. Part 4 was the crossover movie that made Freddy a household name. He was on MTV, merchandise, magazine covers, a TV show and even a 1-900 telephone hotline! His gallows humor performance literally became a joke and was no longer scary. He was just cool af. Part 4 offers an outrageous 80s sfx feast and spunky, blonde Lisa Wilcox as the hero👍

This kickstarted the tail end of abysmal movies after a tolerable 3rd that made up for the second and was probably the true sequel to the original. Sadly, this one took Freddy into Clown City where he would reside until Wes regained the reins for New Nightmare. I liked Alice, but the story never really gave her a chance to stand out like it did Nancy in the original or Kristen to a lesser extent in the third. Wiping out the last three in short order, felt too quick and the others were meh.

After watching Part 3, I thought this movie was going to rock! And like always, I was wrong. This is a badly directed film with terrible acting by all of the characters. Even Robert Englund was bad in this movie as Freddy. The dream sequences are bland as fuck and they kill two of the main characters of Part 3 right at the start of the film! Ahh, fuck this movie! (F)
