About this movie

Located alongside the Tennessee River, Muscle Shoals, Alabama has helped create some of the most important and resonant songs of all time. Overcoming crushing poverty and staggering tragedies, Rick Hall brought black and white together to create music for the generations. He is responsible for creating the "Muscle Shoals sound" and The Swampers, the house band at FAME Studios that eventually left to start its own successful studio known as Muscle Shoals Sound. Gregg Allman and others bear witness to Muscle Shoals' magnetism, mystery and why it remains influential today.

But I'm confused. To me, it was really more about Rick, the man who started music fame out of Muscle Shoals. It's his story as much as the music story. I don't get what happened to him or why? I guess I'll watch again. Awesomely and beautifully well filmed.

...Muscle Shoals has got the Swampers...! Hell yes! You want some American history....you need some inspiration...you need some spiritual healing...you need some entrepreneurial motivation...you need some laughing....you need some crying....you need some Keith Richards and Mick Jagger giving credit where credit is due....you need some passion injected into your veins...damn I knew Muscle Shoals was part of music history but this place and basically four people made it as important as Memphis or Nashville.... even if he never recorded there I wish they had interviewed Jimmy Buffett as he is an Alabama native and quite astute in his understanding of the big picture of business and music...this thing even ends like a drama!

Amazing! The music these guys created is incredible. Every song -you will say "I love this song" hard to say about much of the music of today.
