Mud

The theme of love sewn into each of the characters lives as they impact each other really gives the sense that Mud and Juniper are the star crossed lovers, but young Ellis' view of love is being developed amid the controversy at home, and his experience interacting with girls of his age group. The morals and values of these characters reminds me of Tom Sawyer and the moral compass of independent life on the Mississippi.

At first it starts off slow but picks up the pace near the last half hour mark. I initially thought MUD was an apparition because he appeared out of nowhere only in places that where isolated from the populace. The film had a great way at keeping you second guesting what was really happening.

Gives the audience a very subversive experience into a lifestyle that they may have never even though about. Definitely an eye opener to people who live in the city!
