It has everything good about Mortal Kombat in it. X-rays, gore, and action. The main problem is that it's missing many characters, it isn't very much like the Original story-line, and doesn't actually feature Ed Boon's "Get over here". The animation is amazing but some character designs weren't that good like Baraka and a lot of the movie was just cliche. Scorpion came in at the last second to lave Liu Kang which I expected because you can't have a main character die. Jax, Sonya, and Johnny wouldn't be able to save him in time because they went another path so of course it was Scorpion with his Spear. In the movie Jax also losses his arms because Goro ripped them off but in Mortal Kombat Ermac is actually the one to rip his arms off which may create confusion for people new to Mortal Kombat. This movie only features 14 characters from Mortal Kombat and while many of those featured are the Major ones there are still 33 characters in MK9 overall which I'm sure this is based off of. This may be the first in a spin-off series. If that is the case then I'm assuming that the Sub-Zero in this movie was actually Bi-Han who is Kuai Liang's brother. Kuai Liang would become the Sub-Zero in the next movie. Overall I thought the movie was okay and it's a good representation of Mortal Kombat but sadly it's not the Komplete story and many fan favourite characters are missing so I hope there will be a sequel. One thing is for sure, it well made compared to other video game movies and I respect it. To be fair the characters featured resembles the Mortal Kombat II roster with an exception of Mileena and Kung Lao with Sonya added to the mix so it could also be Mortal Kombat I instead of the reboot.

The first half of the movie was incredible, tracing the historical storyline of Scorpion. The second half was good, not great as it tried to recreate the original Mortal Kombat tournament storyline. Action sequences was beautiful and artistry in motion. You can definitely tell the attention to detail was definitely their strong point and focus during the creation of how they were going to incorporate Mortal Kombat fatalities and animation. They really added a lot of blood and chopped bodies when they decided how many people were going to be brutally die in this movie haha. My only complaint is how the fight with Sub-zero only lasted a few minutes, I was only this was going to be the ultimate fight scene. Guessed they ran out of budget or timeframe in the movie. anyways, I highly recommend this movie for all fight fans and animation fanatics.

Wow just wow, superb acting, excellent fighting choreography, cool story. I wish it focused more on Scorpion's story instead of trying to rehash MK Tournament as we've seen & played it too much. Plus it makes it non canonical to the current game rebooted series. Artwork is average but that's just WB Animation for ya. And ending twist was a tad weak. But overall an excellent movie. Johnny Cage is always funny.
