In writer-director Noah Baumbach's, MISTRESS AMERICA, Tracy (Lola Kirke) is a lonely college freshman in New York, having neither the exciting university experience nor the glamorous metropolitan lifestyle she envisioned. But when she meets her soon-to-be stepsister and adventurous gal about town, Brooke (Greta Gerwig), Tracy is rescued from disappointment and seduced by Brooke's mad schemes.

I felt as though Tracey idolised Brooke way too much. She sees so much freedom and wonder in Brooke yet I see Brooke as an imposter. The way Brooke treats Tracey throughout the film makes me doubt the value of their friendship. I'm hoping Tracey grows up and sees Brooke for the imposter that she is.
