Shy, intelligent, creative B is also headstrong in knowing what she wants. She doesn't want to be the wife of a dullard husband (even if he's wealthy & has status) nor does she want to be burden to her parents (which her mother insists she will be if she doesn't get married). So B sets sets out to prove to her family & herself that she is more than just a daydreaming silly artist that likes to draw rabbits in coats. -- I adored the movie, cinematography was beautiful and the acting was wonderful.

Okay, I like the actors, and I know the author's work and was curious about this bio-pic with a whimsical twist. It's romantic and sweet and gives a glimpse into what Miss Potter's life might have been like before she became the famous author of Peter Rabbit and all his friends. I've seen this movie a few times and each time it grows on me. After this viewing, I even went and looked up more about Beatrix Potter's life after she became famous and wealthy from the sale of her "little rabbit books" and was delighted to discover what she had done with her money. She bought land in the beautiful Lake District of the English countryside and preserved the working farms there. At the end of her life, she bequeathed that land to England's National Trust and it became the Lake District National Park. What a wonderful legacy.
