After watching this movie and doing some research, it's clear enough that the author and Hollywood do not understand the concept of the geisha at all. The film is rife with historical inaccuracies and the romantic chemistry is somewhat cringeworthy. The characters I enjoy are either the side characters or the antagonists. The main protagonist, Chiyo Sakamoto/Nitta Sayuri, I found her to be somewhat annoying and unlikeable due to her being submissive and whiny. The only saving grace is the music

This is 1 of the best movie that I have completely fell in love with hands down. For me, watching this movie gives a very strong, motivation, faith, courage, hope, for women all over that anything is possible. Every woman can have that fairytale dreamlike life even the very attractive 1's such as myself. Chiyo was a very beautiful, graceful, classy lady who knew what & who she wanted. I could never get tired of this movie. I have soooo many choices of movies & yet, I always come back to this movie

It was the greatest love story I've ever seen. It made me feel like I wish I had known her.It was like romeo and juliet in a very strict place a definite forbidden romance in a different time. There were some heartbreaking scenes but some scenes that really touched your heart that's what made the movie so amazing a definite must see movie 5 stars.
