About this movie

MEGAN LEAVEY is based on the true life story of a young marine corporal (Kate Mara) whose unique discipline and bond with her military combat dog saved many lives during their deployment in Iraq. When she is assigned to clean up the K9 unit after a disciplinary hearing, Leavey identifies with a particularly aggressive dog, Rex, and is given the chance to train him. Over the course of their service, Megan and Rex completed more than 100 missions until an IED explosion injures them, putting their fate in jeopardy. Directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite (BLACKFISH) from a screenplay by Pamela Gray and Annie Mumolo & Tim Lovestedt, the film also stars Edie Falco, Ramón Rodríguez, Bradley Whitford, and Common. - ( Original Title - Megan Leavey )

This movie was a lot better than I thought it would be. There are moments that caused me to jump out of my seat! It's pretty tame in most parts but one has to feel for Megan and Rex. I don't know what the actual story is here since most movies butcher reality for the almighty dollar but if her story is even slightly like this movie, then I thank her for her service. Watch this one. It's worth the time and trouble. Then be glad you didn't have to go to Iraq.

Enjoyed Miss Leavy playing the part of Miss Mara. Miss Mara and Sergeant Rex did a phenomenal job in Irarq carrying out their duties finding the bombs. I. Thank them both for their out standing service. Miss Leafy did a fabulous job carrying on the part of Mara and her faithful war dog Sergeant Rex. I think the female Dr. Veterinarian had no heart for the war dogs and their devoted solider. The vet to say the war did could not be adopted, and then send Rex back into war was deplorable.l am so pleased Corpal Mara kept up her fight for Rex. Rex should have been finished his war duty with his Corporal Mara. So happy she maintained her fight for Rex and is living in New Jersey helping other dogs. Miss Leafy should win awards for the top rate acting she did, l give the movie a 5.
