About this movie

In 1845, the earliest days of the Oregon Trail, a wagon train of three families hires mountain man Stephen Meek to guide them over the Cascade Mountains. Claiming to know a shortcut, Meek leads the group on an unmarked path across the high plain desert. Over the coming days, lost in the heat, the settlers face hunger, thirst and a lack of faith in each person's instincts for survival.

Most people will neither understand nor appreciate this film. For those that can, Meek's Cutoff is one of the finest, most engaging and challenging slow-cooked westerns available today.

Unconvincing characters and acting. Completely boring after first 15 mins. No climax to the film. Don't waste your time and money.

A vacuous movie. There is no story. Artisitic perhaps. Certainly not an hour and a half worth.
