About this movie

Winner of the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl is a uniquely funny, wonderfully charming tale of true friendship about a high school senior named Greg, his best friend and fellow student filmmaker Earl, and Rachel — a terminally ill classmate whom Greg is forced to spend time with at the request of his meddling mother.

I stumbled upon this while looking at some movies and i was going to buy it because i read the book.....DO NOT WATCH THIS! If you in fact did not read the book then i will tell you that this movie Sucks! And they change so much its not even funny its sad that they do not even try to make it close. The book is honestly hilarious and sad at the same time and just a heads up the movie the Fault in are stars is so much better made but if you like crappy movies such as this go right ahead and waste your money.

Normally I love movies far more than the book it was based on. But this time. The book was better. The movie is funny but the book is much better. Rachel mom never awkwardly stared down and hit on Greg on the book. I don't even know where the rap drug dealer came from and the entire end of the movie came out of nowhere. The movie made them feel slightly romantic (not very romantic. Just slightly) when the book didn't at all. Overall the book just feels more realistic and truthful.

It was a pretty good movie. I gave it four stars instead of five because there were some moments that seemed like it was trying too hard to be clever with certain lingo and behavior from certain characters.
