About this movie

Derek Cho (Steven Yeun, “The Walking Dead”) is having a really bad day. After being unjustly fired from his job, he discovers that the law firm’s building is under quarantine for a mysterious and dangerous virus. Chaos erupts throughout the office as the victims of the disease begin acting out their wildest impulses. Joining forces with a former client (Samara Weaving, “Ash vs Evil Dead”) who has a grudge of her own, Derek savagely fights tooth and nail to get to the executives on the top floor and settle the score once and for all.

Derek Cho did a great job in this movie and I look forward to seeing him in other work to include movies and tv shows. There are many that will look at this and say that it is a movie that has the over use of a zombie theme. From my perspective it takes that theme in a different one (Spoilers from this point on). The people are infected by a virus that makes them go crazy and give into things that we normally would not do, like calling up your mom and talking about how she made your life a living hell growing up. This movie addresses an old theme of the world of haves and have nots. In the beginning of the movie I am reminded an an old movie with Michael J. Fox in "The Secret to My Success." Where you have a young person entering adulthood with a job after college. The barriers are different for Derek where he gives into corporate needs, you can call it growing up (that sucks). Later on he use what he learn to tear down a lady that is just trying to live, but cannot. She is a have not, and soon after Derek is put in a position where his climb to people a person that is a have is cut short, because higher ups need a scapegoat.

I only watched this one because it was rentable for $0.99. Not worth the price. This movie was beyond silly. It was more comedy than anything else and a comedy because of the poor acting, ridiculous story, inane writing and basically, a worthless pile of digital bits. Well, that's 87 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

Mayhem was a lot of fun with stylish scenes that keep you sucked in. Seemed like it could be a rip off of The Belko Experiment, but its not. I actually enjoyed this way more than Belko and it's not as mean spirited. Steve Yuen and Samara Weaving have great chemistry. Definitely worth multiple watches. Also look out for the hidden Ewok action figure.
