Roberts is the one weak point in the cast. Dialect coach be damned, hearing her say, "Here...and in the corners" is beyond cringe-worthy. The interplay between young Michael Sheen and Bronagh Gallagher in the kitchen scene as they gossip about Mr. Hyde is refreshing and unexpected in a dramatic thriller of this kind. But it's Mr. Malkovich playing both Hyde & Jekyll and how he bridges the two characters to show that they are, in fact, two sides of the same person that catches & holds the eye.

Exceptional !! Uderrated and modest at box office ..is to be expected as the whole movie is so profound and intense that you can really feel how depression in which the main character dr.Jekyll has sucombed ,is taking over the viewer as well ...the victorian era and the dark/foggy atmosphere of dr Jekyll residence brings up a bitter taste to the very end ...Malkovich best movie in my opinion after " In the Line of Fire "(1993)
