Marathon Man

Terrific thriller released in the mid 70s, just before the era of the so called 'Blockbuster' film took hold and, in my opinion, kind of ruined American film making. Along with Dustin Hoffman and Lawrence Olivier, this one's even got the the excellent Roy Schieder in it. You can't go wrong with a movie like this.

Powerful and intriguing...the cast is fantastic (Laurence Olivier was nominated for an Oscar for his Dr. Szell), the story is gripping (you can't go wrong with spies, the "Red Scare" and Nazis) and the end result is a cinematic gem that stays in those dark corners of your mind.

I loved this movie as a kid, it's intense, dark and well acted. Must watch.
