...but sadly Keanu hasn't got this film right at all. The story is weak and confused with both good and poor acting. The continued noise from the fighters becomes irritating and the fight scenes themselves are weak, lacking elements of some of the best chinese martial arts films or even the bold style of The Matrix, or the kewl violence of Kill Bill. Still I love an underdog and I hope Keanu can give us the kewl martial arts film he intended to make, one day!

It's basically the trailer drawn out for over 1h45m. There's not much of a story, there are too many implausibilities; the Tiger dude is a really dumb character: Even after he witnesses a murder right in front of him, it doesn't click what he's signed up for. Too many blows to the head perhaps? And after the pretty severe car incident and murder attempt, the lead cop looked flawless? I don't think so. I mean, look; we know it's *all* fake, but make the frickin' effort, man! Subtitles need to be against a black strip at the bottom to be readable, English words didn't need subs, and epilepsy sufferers should be warned against a couple of flashing scenes. Reeves' villain was unconvincing - just a rich brat having a temper tantrum; one hot beverage, plushie and a nap later, he'd be a happy bunny. Everybody else fell out of a soap opera and no-one gave me a reason to care. Nothing remarkable about the directing. One to watch only if you like watching one pointless fight after another {yaaaaawn} or you're a screenwriter/movie maker in need of a confidence boost and a quick trip down How-Not-To-Make-A-Movie Lane. It's a smidge more watchable the second time around but seriously, the mediocre Kung Fu Panda was SOoooooo much better. With a fresh, well written, original script, better actors, less backers, and more confidence in himself, KCR could yet be a decent director though, so good luck to him: He deserves success

This was probably the worst martial arts film made in the last twenty years . The fighting was not in the least made to feel real not one bit of blood of bruising during the whole film until the end and the fake blood was really poor . The acting was bad aswell . I love martial art movies I.e the Raid but this dont even come in my top 25 .
