About this movie

From director George Miller, originator of the post-apocalyptic genre and mastermind behind the legendary "Mad Max" franchise, comes "Mad Max: Fury Road," a return to the world of the Road Warrior, Max Rockatansky. Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows. 2015 Warner Bros. Ent. All Rights Reserved.

It's such a shame that with a budget and talent like they had that they could only follow the silly "over' action genre. The original Mad Max and the second one rightfully have a place in cinema history because they were beautiful pieces of cinematic art which transcend generations and 'fashions' . They felt real, when there was stress on the actor, you felt it, their pain hurt, the dusty dirty loud dangerous scenes had a visceral effect, I could taste the dust, feel the heat, sense the danger, be afraid. This one has nothing of that 'real' feeling, all the difficulties faced by anyone we like are just overcome and they move on, despite the farcical implausibility of what they do to survive yet another digital danger moment. Somehow the impossible is just, overcome, leaving me yawning at the next 'dangerous' moment. Unlike the original movies where I was desperately dreading the next life or death moment because it felt real! The truck in Fury Road is silent to ride in, there's no dust or grit, nothing feels imaginably tangibly real! Aaagh, what a frikin shame. I want to mark it minus because I think of all the good films which could have been made had the money not been wasted.

I don't really know where to begin with this one, all I can say is that it's a couple of hours of mediocre special effects with an incredibly week story line, poor acting (although acting was barely required and the script wouldn't have been more than a few pages in total) and I really struggled to stay engaged. Really, utter Crap! Not at all related to the original Mad Max films either. Just amazingly terrible.

A breathtaking cinematic experience that brings the Mad Max world into the spotlight decades after the indie smash hit. It still feels very Australian, yet it is unlike anything that Miller has directed before. For fans both new and old, this is a movie you must see.
