This is essential 80s imo. Same as The Road Warrior but a little more so, cause of Tina Turner. This played on HBO/Cinemax all the time back in the 80s. Not as good as but similar to Lost Boys imo, in costumes and music. Mel Gibson is totally 1980s rock 'n roll in this and it has a sexy saxophone playing in one scene👍

With Mad Max 1 thankfully put to rest and Mad Max 2 attempting to broaden the horizons of storyline with a twist and a cute feral child, Mad Max 3 takes us to and beyond Thuderdome with a combination of the WTF from Mad Max 1, twists of fate and a dip into Lord of the Flies to outdo Mad Max 2, and the additional swoop through Messianism that makes this story the perfect prequel to The Passion. I look forward to seeing how Mad Max 4 turns out with a history such as this one.

Good movie, but it doesn't hold up as well as the others. It's fun, but it feels a little ridiculous at some points. Kinda neat seeing kids growing up in the wasteland though, and Bartertown shows you post-apocalyptic civilization, a real city instead of people huddling together to avoid dying like what The Road Warrior gave us. So in that sense, more coherent than the first movie, gave more to the Mad Max universe than the second movie, but just feels a little silly compared to either.
