Kate Beckinsale, among other fine actors, will receive good and great notes from many. So I'll just point out someone else: Tom Bennett. As Sir James Martin, Bennett comes in just in time to pick things up when it seems the action is just stuttering. He's perfect for the light and funny character of his, with facial expressions and a physicality that match deliciously with the idea of some lightness of being.

Rather disappointing... No sex, no violence, and the special effects for the high speed Barouche chase were low-tech even by Edwardian standards. Kidding aside, I was bored, and in the midst of my boredom I found myself unable to enjoy Beckinsale's scenery munching theatrics. I think I would have preferred a stage adaptation but the logistics for home viewing theatre productions tend to exceed the cost of a movie download.

What a horrible written movie. This was by far the worst Jane Austen movie I have ever seen, and dont think it should have been released on google play. This was by definition STV straight to video....
