Lone Survivor

Over the years, I've seen and enjoyed a LOT of war movies, and I have been known to enjoy your average action flick w Mark Wahlberg. Needless to say, I saw this in theaters expecting what Mark always does...an action flick in the manner of Die Hard. I was pleasantly surprised to see a film that was an honest to god war film that will go down as one of the best, along with Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down, Patton, To Hell and Back, We Were Soldiers, Apocalypse Now, and Das Boot.

Mark Walberg play a soldier on a four man QRF (quick reaction force) team who was sent to Afghanistan to get intel on an al Qaida leader. Unfortunately while under camouflage in the mountains of Afghanistan the team was stumbled upon by a goat herder and his grandkids. The team felt it would be inhumane to kill the family so they let them go but one of the kids runs back and warns the terrorist. I would first like to thank those fallen soldiers, who fought for us to see another day. I've seen many military movies and this one has taken the top. This movie will make you, want to be patriotic. I know I'm feeling Patriotic right now, as I write this description. I myself look forward to entering the military as a Marine. Watching this movie just made me want that more. To honor those who have fallen. This movie was great, it opened my eyes. It was a true story what else is there to say.
