About this movie

The epic action of this sci-fi thriller unfolds in a near future in which an alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world.Major William Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop—forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again…and again. But with each battle, Cage becomes able to engage the adversaries with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Blunt). And, as Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated encounter gets them one step closer to defeating the enemy.

Its basically Ground Hog's Day but Sci-Fi. At least Ground hogs day was creatively repetitive, this is not...its horrible and Tom Cruise every bit if whiny as he is in most if his roles....same old Tom Cruise movie. Nothing unique about his character. I'm amazed at the reviews here saying it's awesome. It was the most boring movie I've seen in awhile. I live Tom Cruise in the Mission Impossible series...this is horrible.

3.5 stars. Worth watching particularly if ur into sci-fi as it relates to time. I liked it. Ur not going to get amazing acting out of cruise but he gets the job done. It was good... And even funny at times. Had enough of a plot. I recommend you watch it.... But don't expect that it will be on your short list...

I read the original material this movie is based on, a Japanese light novel called "All You Need Is Kill", whose title makes just about as much sense as "Edge of Tomorrow" or "Live. Die. Repeat." or whatever this movie is called now. Anyway. As a huge fan of the book I say that as an adaptation this movie really isn't that loyal. Actually you cant really call it an adaptation since all it does is take the basic elements of the original and throw it into a new setting with a new plot, even adding something entirely different than anything in the book. BUT, as a movie unto itself, its really great. Great design, great action, great acting, ect. Well made movie throughout, an enjoyable watch.
