About this movie

Thirteen-year-old Lane lives on a beautiful Northern California commune, wild and free, until her mother, a rebel and iconoclast, rejects the security and safety of the community land. They begin moving from one unlikely situation to another, leaving normal life far behind. Scrounging for food and hitchhiking while her mother cadges cash and begs favors, Lane struggles to keep her family together in an increasingly desolate and isolated emotional landscape.

The most boring dullest film I have ever seen. Those who left 5 * must be friends of the producer and did it out of pity. Uninteresting ,no story and totally uneventful . Do not hire.

This film was amazing! The Writer and Director SJ Chiro did an amazing job telling the story. Sophia Mitri Schloss did a fantastic job playing the lead character, Lane and draws you into her world and her struggles. Katherine Moening plays a hippie mom who rejects the normal order and lives completely off the grid. Very compelling story, like nothing I have ever seen before. All round 5 stars from me

I loved this movie. The young Sophia Mitri Schloss was simply incredible in this role as Lane, the unappreciated hippie teen, losing her loved family and breaking away from her stoner mom. Katherine Moennig was perfect as the hippie pothead mom who cared more about avoiding "death culture" than child health and welfare. At one point she says to her daughter Lane, "I want you to be Cleopatra but you're so Minny Mouse." A case study in how not to treat a kid. At one point she offers 13-year old Lane peyote, but won't give her much food but what appears to be rice, lentils and water. This is an excellent view into counterculture life in 1970s America. The challenges and coming of age themes for young Lane come through and connect brilliantly. Schloss is someone to watch - she's going places. Oh, and the music is quite great too, with a mix of trippy mellow string pieces that fit the scenes perfectly, to old school psychedelic rock from the era. Check this one out, you will love it.
