About this movie

Overeducated and underemployed, 28 year old Megan (Keira Knightley) is in the throes of a quarterlife crisis. Squarely into adulthood with no career prospects, no particular motivation to think about her future and no one to relate to, Megan is comfortable lagging a few steps behind – while her friends check off milestones and celebrate their new grown-up status. When her high-school sweetheart (Mark Webber) proposes, Megan panics and– given an unexpected opportunity to escape for a week – hides out in the home of her new friend, 16-year old Annika (Chloë Grace Moretz) and Annika’s world-weary single dad Craig (Sam Rockwell).

The general message and tone behind the film is good, and the characters are likable yet human and realistically flawed. But there were just really implausible things happening and the end could have been wrapped up more thoughtfully, seemed hurried or not quite thought out (yeah sure, just elbow that other girl out of her prom date!) ...could have been better in someone else's hands I think.

The story line was okay, first half was slow until it picked up half way through and got a little better. Would I recommend it? No. There are far better movies in my opinion to spend 5 dollars on. I've seen a lot better movies with kiera. However, she did a great job with the role she was given.

I find one of these once in a blue moon. It's not the best movie in the world, and it's not the worst. It flows well. Easy to watch. Keeps the appeal going throughout the movie. Big fan of Moretz and her work. I think this one is for the crowd that just loves movies. 4 out of 5 because of how many times I can watch this one and not get bored of the characterization.
