With its incredible direction, all-star cast, killer screenplay and heart-pounding shootouts, I definitely call it the best movie in the whole world and it should have won Best Picture and Director over "Titanic". It's a movie I would recommend to all my friends and family if they're in the mood for an action thriller. If you love Chinatown, Heat and The French Connection then you'll love this crime thrilling masterpiece from the director of "8 Mile". You'll watch it again and again.

Kim Basinger won 'Best Actress' for her performance as a hooker with a heart of gold in this gritty, 1950's-era crime drama. And it plays well any decade because of a well-written screenplay, an excellent cast of talented actors, lush stage settings, and outstanding camera work. Overall, a great, intriging movie to watch again and again. It's a 10 - Buy it.

Saw this in L.A. when it was showing in theaters there. Just viewed it again, twenty years later. It's still a terrific crime drama with marvelous acting from the cast. I think I appreciate it even more now than I did 20 yrs ago.
