I don't review movies often but this one I will. Albeit, the movie took quite a few crazy turns I ended up really liking it, being a father I could relate to Cage's character. I will not review this with pretentious words as if I'm some know it all critic like others on here. I'll just say that my heart didn't slow down from the moment he figured out what the meaning behind the numbers were. (spoiler) and that does NOT happen to me very often that I'm completely glued to the screen. I put myself in Nick Cage's character's shoes and related to him the entire way. I didn't watch this as a movie critic. I watched this as a parent. Watch this with an open mind The effects were good and the premise even better. I will not compare this to other movies or writing/directing styles. I have never really seen another movie like it. Whether it be science, religion, spiritualism, or outright faith that was the message of this dramatic, edge of your seat science fiction thriller, it doesn't matter. It's all the same. And the fact is I was thoroughly entertained!

This movie starts out well and goes down hill quickly, with one of the worst endings I've ever seen, I think they didn't have an ending and just threw something together while on the set!! Awful, keep looking.

This is one amazing movie that for some reason got a lot of hate when it came out. I don't give 5 stars lightly but this is almost perfect. The movie changes genre every 20 minutes or so hence why some people call it confusing or inconsistent, but it's just how it's built. A thrilling ride.
