I actually enjoyed it. The comedy was great, the plot twists were not expected at all, and most of the action was quite entertaining. I do agree the violence is a bit hard to stomach at times (I kind of empathize with the main antagonist but not to the point of puking at the sight of blood). The whole "Westboro Baptist Church-types slaughter" scene kind of gives a cult bashing religious hating subtle undertone. I could also do without "Edwina Scissorfeet" slicing people in half. Still fun though

Blew my expectations out of the water. Movie was fun, a non stop action thrill ride that for better as time progressed. As with anything British, you're either going to love it or hate it. Since I love Brit shows like Monty Python and Top Gear, it was a great fit. Better than most any of the newest Bond flicks. That's my 2 cents.

I didn't realize this was directed by Matthew Vaughn...which is what made me give this a chance. Much, much better than I expected. Very adult in terms of language and violence, amazing action scenes (frenetic, high-energy akin to films like Kill Bill), a consistent and pervasive sense of humour, and fantastic performances from Colin Firth and Sam Jackson. Overall an excellent, surprise gem of a movie.
