About this movie

The magical kingdom of Lucis is home to the sacred Crystal, and the menacing empire of Niflheim is determined to steal it. King Regis of Lucis (Sean Bean) commands an elite force of soldiers called the Kingsglaive. Wielding their king’s magic, Nyx (Aaron Paul) and his fellow soldiers fight to protect Lucis. As the overwhelming military might of the empire bears down, King Regis is faced with an impossible ultimatum – to marry his son, Prince Noctis to Princess Lunafreya of Tenebrae (Lena Headey), captive of Niflheim, and surrender his lands to the empire’s rule. Although the king concedes, it becomes clear that the empire will stop at nothing to achieve their devious goals, with only the Kingsglaive standing between them and world domination.

Very much a "fans-of-the-genre" film. You will hear negative criticism relative to the story, the structure, and the characters. For the most part, the criticism is legitimate, but while this is a film, it is made with a very specific audience in mind. If you have played a Final Fantasy game and could ignore the anime tropes and general awkwardness, then this will be right up your alley. This film blows Spirits Within out of the water in terms of actual...Final Fantasy-ness, and the story actually makes sense. It even manages to surpass Advent Children's action scenes. If you hear stuff about the uncanny valley in relation to this movie, please know you are speaking to a liar. This film is hands-down the pinnacle of realistic CG animation, and it will take a Behemoth(see what I did there?) to dethrone it(aaaaah I did it again). Kweh, Kupo and whatever a Cactuar says.

This is by far the best CGI animated movie I've seen. It's clear that the dev team put so much effort and work to create this beauty. One thing to note about this movie, it serves mainly as a PROLOGUE to the FF XV game. So yea the ending is left hanging, cause the answers lie in the game. Though despite that, in my opinion the story of this movie, the characters and the whole design are better than some of Hollywood's big budget movies. This movie is definitely a must seen for any FF XV player out there. And even if you don't play the game, I still think it's worth watching.

I don't no anything about the game itself but if you look this from its entertaining value and storyline ect. I would give it 3 points. Story is good, but little unfinished and while the characters are well formed as what animation goes they still lack something. But l love the idea of this movie.
