Kingdom Of Heaven - Director's Cut

(no spoilers) I have not been religious for many years now, but this film really shows some of the feelings that I had back when I was heavy into religion. KoH has its flaws which makes it a bit difficult to sit through in moments. However the emotions and ideas expressed in this movie...so rarely seen on film...well... experiencing this far outweighs the flaws. If you are looking for just a fun light action flick, then this is not for you, as it is not a comedy at all. .......[Paragraph]................. Yes there are some things that I too found difficult to shrug off, but every rose has its thorns. ....I have still not watched Passion of the Christ, as I am not interested in being preached to, and watching a film that has convinced many people to become religious. KoH did not seem to preach to me at all. It was far more grounded in reality than I expected in terms of showing how religious people think and not being a supernatural movie (I don't care about historical accuracy; anyone who gets their education from Hollywood movies is an idiot). I hope that people can see this, and not perceive the movie as a bad. ......[Paragraph]............... An interesting and unique thing about this movie, is that after the first thirty minutes of the movie...I did not perceive the protagonists as the good guys. Kind of saw everyone as a bunch of bad guys murdering each other......Edward Norton is one hell of an actor in this. Like I said, there are things about it you will not like and may even find offensive if you fail to see why they wrote it that way, but if you can wisely shrug those things off and try to see the meanings in the writing, and try to comprehend the philosophical ideas and motives, you might find this to be a movie well worth your time.

Critics at Rotten Tomatoes are inept if they think a complex and introspective movie such as Kingdom of Heaven deserves whatever it is they measure in tomatoes to be less than great. Tomatoes are good for making salsa and marinara sauce among other tasty creations. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes is an all time classic, so I'm not against tomatoes and film. I'm just not for inept movie watchers who fancy themselves valuable critics to influence movie watching for others.

Don't watch the theatrical release, make sure to watch the director's cut. Ridley Scott again showcasing his raw legendary talent. It's reputation was tarnished by the movie studio's greed, they decided to take out crucial parts of the movie just for more airtime in theatres. Still one of my favorite medieval movies of all time.
