I found the directors cut exceptionally well made. With action balanced between depiction of courage and the poignant emotion of seeking righteousness, piety, truth, etc. It is about Balian but it is thus also about the political situation of the time. Christians might have a reason to hate it. But even as fiction it is beautifully well made. Characters are well portrayed, and the individual person comes out strongly well. Dialogues, last but in no way the least, are exceptional.
