About this movie

Self-made superhero Kick-Ass (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and sweet-faced, foul-mouthed assassin Hit Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz) try to return to life as "normal" teenagers, but soon they are faced with their deadliest challenge yet. To seek revenge for his father's death, Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) has re-invented himself as the leader of an evil league of super-villains. To defeat their new nemesis, Kick-Ass and Hit Girl must team up with a new wave of masked crusaders, led by the badass Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey), in this battle of real-life villains and heroes. Stay tuned after the credits for an additional 12 minutes of extra footage. (Original Title - Kick-Ass 2 (Extended))

Too be honest this was alot better than the 1st one, I mean the fight seen were epic, the blood looked far too real, it's all out amazing! Even the actors did a decent job on this film, props too universal studios for owning the rights too such a great movie! I'd rate it 5/5 but you can really only expect a 4 at most from me.

I finally got around to watching this. First and foremost, Chloe Grace Moretz carried the entire film. I'm becoming a fan of her after seeing some really strong performances across a number of films. I didn't even recognize Jim Carrey until his mask got pulled off 3/4 of the way through the film which is good. Aaron Taylor-Johnson gives a decent performance considering the material but overall, this film isn't as good as the original. I think the main problem is Kick Ass started off as a campy take on the super hero film that had darker moments such as Damon Macready's (Nicolas Cage) final scene. Kick Ass 2 is a darker super hero film with campy moments. The opposite of the original film but the cheesiness of it all doesn't quite work with the darker tone. The violence was a bit of a shock as a result considering the tone of the original film. But here's the irony/silver lining. If there is a Kick Ass 3, it should be a proper super hero film with the first two installments making good origin material.

Pretty entertaining movie but unfortunately the original was better than the sequel. This is almost always true for 75% of movies but there are a few exceptions; The God Father Part II, The Dark Knight, Lord of the Rings Twin Towers, etc. Anyway overall it's worth renting, worth purchasing on sale.
