About this movie

It's 1868 and the Civil War has been over for three years. An old, abandoned mine is now being transformed into a military stronghold by a corrupt mayor and a band of bloodthirsty outlaws hell-bent on reigniting the war. When a U.S. Marshal comes to town only to find out that his brother, the town priest, has been murdered, his search for the killer leads to an inevitable clash that becomes a life or death struggle for a much greater cause. - ( Original Title - Justice )

I liked this movie because it spoke to what is right and good in the world and those who challenge that. The love of money and power only leads to trouble and those who stand for what they believe in win, even if they suffer for it. This movie had believable characters, portrayed by actors with real talent, well known or not. And as westerns go this was a good one. Yes, there was some violence, but the west at that time was a violent place. I’ll happily recommend it to friends who love movies.

I have never taken the time to write a review but just had to stop what I was doing to put out the "buyer beware" notice. Im sorry but this was a poorly written, poorly acted "other than the mayor" cheesy, overly predictable version of every bad western you have seen. Im truly sorry because Im sure the actors and crew worked hard to film this. Riding off into the western sun set was over used so often I wondered how many evenings were taken getting those poorly lit shots. The proverbial damsel looking into the cowboys eyes and batting her eyes made for a couple of scenes where I was needing eye drops for myself. Really bad choking scene where the actress doesn't even make it to the floor when she passes out??? I did appreciate the good verses evil angle with the brother being the pastor...but come on....the cross scene at the end?????

Never seen this new western movie. I don't know if I would or could. It looks like it would be a great movie from the reviews, but it would be better without the R rating. The MPAA needs to change the rating down to a PG-13 rating or a least the studio make a PG-13 rated version of this movie, this, Open Range, and Hacksaw Ridge because I love western movies .
