If you haven't seen Jurassic Park, or you haven't seen it for a while... watch it. The story is good, the action is exciting, and the dinosaur special effects still hold up very well today. It's obvious and entirely understandable that the length was kept to 2 hours to avoid wearing out children; little boys in particular love dinosaurs and therefore made up a decent/large proportion of the market for this movie. But there's several excellent parts of the book that could have been shown and weren't. More could have been made of some of the chases and action scenes to amp up the thrills, and when Ellie is in the maintenance shed the pace should have slowed down to a suspenseful pace (like a horror movie). I also would have appreciated more "wonderous" scenes of dinosaurs! And more could have been done with Alan's dislike of children and subsequent bonding with them. More characterization of Alan and Ellie would have been good. The movie could have easily reached 150 minutes or even longer without getting boring or repetitive, and would have been even greater. It all feels like nitpicking. Jurassic Park is fantastic, a well-deserved classic that everyone should see.

Like the 1930's King Kong, this was a masterpiece and a landmark of both monster movie special effects(in this case showing off spectacular CGI) and raw human emotion. Not since Kong has film involving Dinosaurs managed to make people genuinely terrified, shocked and emotional. For Spielberg this is also his greatest film since Jaws, and possibly the best film he ever made(the same year's Schindler's List is also a masterpiece). Michael Crichton's fantastic novel was done justice.

I saw this movie when it was released in 1993 at what is now the vmax cinema. It was the first digital movie to be shown at the cinema and the sound was truly awesome. Noone can create magic like speilberg. The dinosaurs and the action are amazing and the scene where the t-rex comes in the night is something I will never forget or stop raving about (very scary and aswell as exhilarating). 1 of my favourite if not favourite movies of all time and still stands up brilliantly. My daughter loves it. A must see.
