About this movie

Join fan favorites Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt for the adventure of a lifetime on Disney's Jungle Cruise, a rollicking thrill-ride down the Amazon with wisecracking skipper Frank Wolff and intrepid researcher Dr. Lily Houghton. Lily travels from London, England to the Amazon jungle and enlists Frank's questionable services to guide her downriver on La Quila-his ramshackle-but-charming boat. Lily is determined to uncover an ancient tree with unparalleled healing abilities-possessing the power to change the future of medicine. Thrust on this epic quest together, the unlikely duo encounters innumerable dangers and supernatural forces, all lurking in the deceptive beauty of the lush rainforest. But as the secrets of the lost tree unfold, the stakes reach even higher for Lily and Frank and their fate-and mankind's-hangs in the balance.

Awful film. If this was meant to be a child friendly film, Disney repeatedly fails to reach their targets. I can make out sexual innuendo in multiple Disney films, if you don't know what I mean I am talking about the part when Dwayne Johnson gets impaled and he falls off a cliff (something like that). Also the bit when the Spaniards attack innocent Natives in the village, I think the use of rock music wasn't needed, I'd say that sort of music should be used in zombie films, not a "family film".

You get the feeling that they wanted it to be like the Mummy or Pirates of the Caribbean (similar theme and ideas reused), you'll even have moments when you ask yourself "have I seen this film before?" Blunt & Johnson do what they can but they're working with a poor and unimaginative script that never seems to know where it's going or how it will end.

Big fun, big budget ($200m, apparently) and a big cast that works incredibly well together (Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, Jack Whitehall) in this very likable Disney blockbuster. No great shakes and it's as light as a feather, but who needs substance when you are so well entertained? For more, see the full review: bit.ly/3kTRi5U
