About this movie

A portrait of the effects of schizophrenia on family life is the central focus in this film about a schizophrenic boy named Julien (Ewen Bremner - "Fool's Gold," "Trainspotting") who works in a school for the blind. Julien lives at home with his pregnant sister Pearl (Academy Award and Golden Globe-nominee Chloë Sevigny - "Boys Don't Cry," "Zodiac"), his brother Chris, who wrestles in his spare time; and their violent father, who slaps his children around, hoses them down with water, and offers to pay Chris ten dollars to dress up in his late mother's clothes and dance. Eventually Julien escapes from his home and interacts with people on the street. MPAA Rating: R (c) 1999 New Line Productions, Inc. All rights reserved.
