About this movie

In a world plagued by demons who cause great human suffering, young demon hunter Xuan Zang risks his all to conquer a water demon, a pig demon and the demon of all demons, Sun Wukong. Adhering to his firm belief in giving of one's self for the greater cause, he embraces the demons as his disciples. However, in order to atone for their own sins and save the common people, the four of them must embark on a journey to the West that's full of challenges.

Delightful film. Comical. Watch if you want a good laugh. The theme and characters are from East Asian mythologies. Though not the same, just think of Greek Mythologies which have Medusa , Titans, and Hercules. You will be able to relate to the super powers characters have in this film. However, it will be more difficult to understand these characters if you are not already familiar with the mythology just as people assume that Hercules has super human strength because he is son of Zeus.

Great! Shaolin Soccer/KungPow! style humor. Even some romance. Lovely singing. Cool martial arts & Jackie Chan style physical goofiness. (Mostly) good special effects. It even made me tear up a bit at times. Surprised this slipped my radar for so many years. Glad I finally picked it up!
