About this movie

Writer director Taika Waititi, brings his signature style of humor and pathos to his latest film, JOJO RABBIT, a World War II satire that follows a lonely German boy whose world view is turned upside down when he discovers his single mother is hiding a young girl in their attic. Aided only by his idiotic imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler, Jojo must confront his naive patriotism.

Wow, the movie is really critizing the people that hate the haters. People should be sympathetic with others that follow dangerous believes and act on them out of "necessity", because really, they are fine people, who will do the right things, when given the chance. It is how the main characters are displayed. Spoiler Alert: If you ever happen to be in a situation like the people were under Nazi rule, you should probably not show little acts of resistance, because those characters in the movie die and have achieved nothing for it. Also gladly, you can expect everyone to excuse you for everything that you "had to do", because now that they have seen this movie, they understand why you had to act like you did. Add to that that the movie pretends it is showing Nazi Austria and does not and then it pretends to show Nazi ideology and does not and that every convinced Nazi in the movie was presented as dumb, which they were not, and you have the full picture. As a neonazi you can now approach young people with your ideology that they will not detect as Nazi ideology, they will not suspect you as a neonazi either, if you are not dumb. Of course, the actual systems and techniques to lure people were not shown in the movie, so you don't even have to be very creative about recruiting. Once you have lured them into your system and you have power over them, they will follow orders. Because they have seen in the movie what happens, if they don't and see themselves as good people still, because that is how it was depicted in the movie. So, don't hesitate to ask them for the dirty jobs early on, maybe show them the movie one more time before you do. Actual neonazi, ISIS or whatever radical organizations that need young people must be very happy about this movie. Not only about the movie itself, but also how it was (not) critized for what it actually does. I cannot understand why 75 years after the end of WW II, there is a group of people actually funding this movie, when it should be obvious to any expert on Nazis or cults what it would do with uninformed viewers. Which are, by looking at how it is received (best movie script Oscar wth) a lot of viewers, a big majority.

Boring, not funny not what I'm used to from Taika I certainly couldn't see anything funny in an early scene of the film in which an assortment of five women and men, dressed in 1940s clothes are all hanging together in the middle of a rural village..........after that I switched it off.......... had I been in the theater I would have walked out (something I've always felt too embarrassed to do, even in the worst movies) it was that bad. .
