About this movie

When sadistic young thugs senselessly attack John Wick (Keanu Reeves) – a brilliantly lethal ex-assassin – they have no idea they’ve messed with the wrong guy. With New York City as his bullet-riddled playground, Wick embarks on a merciless rampage, hunting down his adversaries with the skill and ruthlessness that made him an underworld legend.

If I could give this piece of crap 0 stars I would. This is easily one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Even cheesy 80s action movies like Cobra had better writing. So many other reviewers already pointed out so many of the completely terrible plot holes, nonsense, and idiocy that I'll just leave most of that out of this review. That being said, there's terrible video games with better stories than this movie. You'd be better off staring at a wall while punching yourself in the side of the head for 2 hours than watching this piece of crap. Skip it.

This is a really one dimensional movie. So much more could have been done with it. Action sequences and fight scenes are well choreographed, but there is no character development, and so little back story you wonder if there was ever any intent to provide one (I suspect that there was and it got cut). If there had been, this could have been a much better movie. Why do so many people expect so little from Hollywood that this rates any more than 2/4 stars?

While it did manage to make me weep in the first 20 minutes with an ASPCA moment (don't watch if you can't stand animal cruelty), this movie lacked any depth, the violence was pretty gratuitous and stereotypical, and very little acting was required by any of the actors. It was remarkable in just how much money they spent to make this really bad movie. A real shame.
