About this movie

JOAN RIVERS - A PIECE OF WORK takes the audience on a year long ride with Joan Rivers in her 76th year of life; it peels away the mask of an iconic comedian, laying bare both the struggle and thrill of living life as a groundbreaking female performer. Watched insurmountable times, because it's an awesome look inside the best female comidenne & paved the way for many before & after her tragic passing. It really helps me to deal with her loss. She was such an inspiration to me, as a writer & just her as the person she is, was & always will be! God bless Melissa & Cooper. I've been praying for you both... I'm forever grateful Joan chose to document even just a small part of her life, so I can show my Daughter one day. She was a one-of-a-kind woman ☆

Joan was an amazing human being. This movie is very eye-opening and brutally honest from the opening scene that shows Joan without makeup. Joan really opened up and lets herself be vulnerable. Many people confuse her comedy with her real-life personality. She's so NOT the person many think she is. Brilliant and inspiring! I loved it!

It gave me a newfound respect for a pioneer and legend in the comedy genre whose talent overshadowed by controversy and unfortunately her addiction to plastic surgery! She was one of the true greats ahead of her time and truly underappreciated as a comic genius!
