About this movie

Paradise police chief Jesse Stone takes some well-deserved vacation time and chooses to spend it in Boston, where the Assistant State Homicide Commander, Lieutenant Sydney Greenstreet, aware of his previous experience as an LA Homicide detective, has sought his expertise in evaluating a packet of cold case murders. His cop-ly intuition leads him to a case that has already been closed, but when something about it catches his eye, it sets him off on an investigation filled with surprises, unlikely suspects and grave danger.

Tom is getting a bit long in the tooth but still is a good actor. He's believable as a worn out, timed out, end of the road cop who still has a couple of cases left in him. The story itself is rather muddled by offshoots of plot that go nowhere and leave us wondering why certain characters were introduced, only to be abandoned or left hanging without explanation. The core plot is pretty good but not great. I question why Jesse never pets the dog? Everyone pets their dog except Jesse. What's wrong with him? Was it in Tom's contract that he not have to touch the dog? That was unnatural. Overall, watchable. There should have been a rent option on this one as it's a watch-once-never-watch-again movie for sure.

I absolutely love the Jesse Stone movie series. I'm a lifelong Tom Selleck fan. He's such an amazing actor and he never disappoints.

Along with the other Jesse Stone series, it is very seasoned work by professionals that bring it right to you but lighting could be better.
