This might look like your average teenage band movie, but inside is a greedy, cheap excuse for nostalgia baiting. Forget everything you know about Jem, because this movie doesn't care about ANYTHING. Story? Pull out a hackneyed premise that the Josie and the Pussycats movie MADE FUN OF. Characters? Entirely forgettable. Intrigue? None whatsoever. It's predictable from a thousand miles away. This movie is a disgrace to EVERYONE. Shame on Hasbro for approving and making money from this. You have ruined girl movies FOREVER.

After I heard this was based on a show from the 80's i saw it on netflix. I watched all 3 seasons provided on there. Just from watching the trailer I can tell this movie is so different from the original. They changed everything. They even got rid of the only black character. And it looks like they turned Jerrica into a victim. In the show she saw Jem as another part of her. Her alter ego that allowed her to perform without feeling nervous. The only thing she didn't like about Jem is that she thought her bf might like her more sometimes. I don't get how you base a movie on a show and change all of the core facts of the characters

Don't title things for a boost. This is not Jem and the Holograms, nor is it a good movie. It's more like a really bad version of Josie and the pussycats from 2001(which ,BTW, also did not have much to do with its source material but still managed to make a really funny movie). Watch josey and the pussycats instead of this, your welcome.
